Very Light Magazine is a magazine of The Antique & Historical Arms Collectors Guild of Victoria, Inc                                                                               No 71 May 2014

Editor for Caps & Flints Required

Following the resignation of Barry Thomas as editor due to continuing health concerns the Guild needs someone to volunteer for the role of editor of Caps & Flints. Note this does not include Very Light which is produced by the Secretary.

The Editor’s role would be to desktop publish each issue using the appropriate software and to play a part in sourcing articles for the magazine which would reflect the varied collecting interests of our members. The Guild Committee would provide appropriate manpower assistance and support in the important task of getting suitable articles. The Guild envisions that there would be at least two issues of the magazine per year, although it is understood that this very much depends upon the availability of articles. We feel that some prior experience in this sort of task would be useful.

Set up costs for the purchase of the latest appropriate software and any IT costs would be borne by the Guild. Reasonable out of pocket expenses also would be reimbursed. The mail out of Caps & Flints to the members would not be part of the Editor’s task as this would be handled by the Secretary. Importantly the person undertaking the job would not need to be especially knowledgeable in their understanding of antique and collectable arms.

Any people interested in taking on the job of editor and who would like more information about the position are asked to contact the Guild Secretary on 9584 2907.

Last Chance to be included on the Guild Display Permit!!!

The form to apply was sent out with the last issue of Very Light. If you want to be included then send it in NOW!! or contact the Secretary on 9584 2907 for another !!!
