A joint special display evening between the Guild and the Vintagers Order of Edwardian Gunners was held on Monday, 29 October 2007, with great success. The theme of the evening was double-barrelled firearms, and encompassed one of the most popular sporting configurations from the mid-nineteenth century through into the 'Big Game' era of the early decades of the twentieth century. A fantastic array of items were brought out by members of both organisations for display, and once again illustrated the quality of items held in private ownership. Below is a sample of some of the evening's exhibits.
Vintagers Secretary and SSAA (Vic Branch) State Secretary Judith Kent with a sample of high-grade cased doubles that adorned their table.
Three attractive double firearms.
Detail of a Continental double shotgun with scope.
Victorian collector Arthur Martin and his interesting selection of shotshell reloading equipment.
Guild member Benjamin Thomas' exhibit of double percussion shotguns, documents and ephemera relating to Melbourne gun maker, James W. Rosier.
Vintagers President Peter Smith and his partner Judith Kent's impressive line up of high-grade cased doubles.
